Norway claims that China poses a security threat

      The Chinese Embassy in Norway has taken note of the annual security threat report issued by the Norwegian Police Security Agency (PST) on February 4 and the remarks made by the Director of the Norwegian Police Security Bureau, Ms. Bjoran. We express our strong dissatisfaction and firm opposition to the part of the relevant report and Ms. Director-General's statement concerning China.
China has always respected Norway's sovereignty and national security and did not interfere in Norway's internal affairs. There is no conflict of interest between China and Norway, and China does not pose any security threat to Norway. It is absurd for a country's intelligence department to make an assessment in hypothetical language on issues related to its own security and make an unprovoked attack on China. If the logic of this sector holds, then China will also suffer from security threats from Norway. We hope that the relevant intelligence departments will use facts to speak out, be careful in their words and deeds, and make objective and responsible remarks so as not to be laughed at generously by the international community.
We also note that the heads of relevant institutions also mentioned Huawei's related issues. China would like to reiterate once again that China has always firmly opposed and cracked down on any form of cyber-theft and attacks. Chinese law does not authorize any institution to force enterprises to install "compulsory backdoor". Of course, a country has the right to safeguard its information security, but it can not use the pretext of security to damage or even stifle the legitimate and legitimate business of enterprises under the pretext of parroting. We are opposed to the fact that relevant parties take advantage of national security to protect trade. Sino-Norwegian cooperation is win-win in nature. We hope that the relevant parties in Norway will provide a fair and equitable competitive environment for Chinese enterprises to operate in Norway and do more things conducive to mutual trust and cooperation between the two sides, rather than vice versa.
