The Yonhap news agency quoted South Korean intelligence agencies Wednesday as saying North Korea is preparing for international verification at the Fengxili nuclear test site.
Despite the North's cessation of nuclear and missile tests over the past year, it has not accepted international inspections of the dismantlement of its Fengxili nuclear facility in May, so it has been criticized for purely showmanship and is likely to resume its nuclear tests.
South Korean President Man Jae-in said North Korea agreed to allow international inspectors to watch the "permanent demolition" of major missile facilities and take further measures, such as closing down Yongbyon's main nuclear facilities, in exchange for a U.S. response.
Wen Yin made the above statement after holding a summit with North Korean leader Kim Jeong-eun in September.
