Fatih Birol, director of the International Energy Agency (IEA), told Reuters on Monday on the sidelines of the Nagoya LNG producer-consumer conference in Japan:
* The international community is calling on the Saudi government to take responsibility for the killing of the well-known journalist, Kashuji, but he is not worried that Saudi Arabia may retaliate by cutting oil exports.
* the growth rate of global oil demand is still very strong, mainly driven by several emerging Asian countries.
* With Venezuela's output and Iranian exports plummeting and likely to fall further, higher oil prices are likely to emerge than they are today, and it will be a challenge for major oil-producing countries to increase oil production to appease the market.
